WSRC supported IDAHOBIT 2018 in Parramatta
News | Posted on 5th Jun 2018
On 17 May 2018, WSRC participated in an event Ending Homophobia in Parramatta to support the 2018 International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT).
Julie Miller, Recovery College Manager, mingled with representatives from Twenty 10, ACON, Western Sydney Community Legal Centre, and promoted the WSRC Term 2 Course Guide, with a particular focus on the LGBTIQ Self-Advocacy workshops to the community and allies.
Given that there is a disproportionate number of the LGBTIQ community experiencing mental health concerns, Western Sydney Recovery College sees it as part of our role to support and promote mental health recovery within this community. WSRC workshops and events are safe spaces for LGBTIQ people.
We would like to thank the organisers for the opportunity to support this event.
