Living Well in Focus 2020-2024 – Visit from Mental Health Commission of NSW
News | Posted on 3rd Jun 2021
On 2 June 2021, some of our team had the opportunity to meet with members of the Mental Health Commission of NSW to discuss ‘Living Well in Focus 2020-2024′ and what it means to our students, educators and community. Released in November 2020, ‘Living Well in Focus’ is a strategic plan for community recovery, wellbeing, and mental health in NSW.
The team were pleased to see a strong emphasis on the voice of lived experience and the recognition of the invaluable role of Peer Workers and Peer Educators in the plan, given that all the courses run by the College are co-produced and co-delivered by people with lived experience alongside mental health professionals.
One Door Mental Health would like to thank Julie Dixon, Monica Brabant, and Wendy Uptin from the Commission, as well as Deputy Commissioners Tim Heffernan, Toni Garretty, and Pam Rutledge, for taking the time for this valuable conversation.
