Help review a recovery-oriented practice questionnaire…

Researchers from Sydney University are seeking the views of people who use (or have used) mental health services, their families and carers, clinicians and academics about the relevance and completeness of the content of a new questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to measure capabilities for recovery-oriented practice, as they have been defined by Australian mental health consumers. The questionnaire will be used as an outcome measure to evaluate student acquisition of capabilities for recovery-oriented practice and the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies utilised to teach about recovery, including consumer involvement.

Join The Student Voice

Based on the input we received through our recent survey, we are excited to announce that the Western Sydney Recovery College is launching The Student Voice, an advisory group made of up past, current, and future students, staff members, and stakeholders of the college. The group will meet monthly in Blacktown to provide feedback and inform the future direction of the college. We are setting up this group as part of our commitment to walk alongside our students during their journey with the college.

New Program: Introduction to Peer Work

This new program delivered in partnership with the Mental Health Coordinating Council (MHCC) is designed to give students an introduction to the skills and knowledge of mental health peer work without the stress of assessment.

The Western Sydney Recovery College is looking to form a student advisory group, The Student Voice, which will help provide expert advice to support the development, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of the Western Sydney Recovery College.  The group will consist of consumers, carers, family members, community members, and mental health workers who are previous or current students of WSRC.
