Visitors from Singapore Institute of Mental Health

On Thursday March 21st, our Engagement Officer, Bridget, met with four representatives from the Institute of Mental Health, Singapore, Dr Mok Yee Ming, Chermain Wong, Jessica Wong, and Faith Wong, to discuss recovery colleges. The Institute of Mental Health in Singapore is beginning the process of starting a recovery college for their inpatients and community mental health patients, and so the representatives travelled all the way to Australia to do some research on how a recovery college operates. Bridget discussed the challenges and rewards that are involved in working in a recovery college, and gave them some useful contacts to continue their research. We are looking forward to hearing from our friends in Singapore to see how they go setting up a recovery college!
